Questions about Apple Music artwork
Copy the song or album link in Apple Music (Share › Copy Link), paste it above, press Get artwork and pick a size. You can also type the album or song name and choose the right cover from the results. The file comes straight from Apple's image servers.
Most covers are stored at 3000 × 3000 pixels, the size Apple asks labels to deliver. Some older releases are smaller. The Full size button always gets the biggest version Apple has, and the note under the buttons tells you its exact size once it's saved.
JPG for almost everything: a full-size cover is usually 2–5 MB. PNG has the same pixels in a much bigger file, often 15–20 MB, and only helps when an app insists on PNG.
It's usually a sync or cache problem. Turn Sync Library off and on, or remove the download and download the song again. For your own files, save the cover here, then open the song's Info window in the Music app, go to Artwork and add the image.
Not yet. Playlists and artist pages don't have one album cover, so paste a link to a song or album from them instead. Animated (moving) covers aren't supported yet either.
Album art belongs to the artist or label. Keep it for personal use, like your own music library or a wallpaper, and ask the rights holder before you publish or sell it.
